— With more than 1,100 Olympic swimmers from across the United States, Australia and around the world participating in the Summer Olympics, the city of Memphis is among the most popular destinations in the U.S. to get a free lesson on how to prepare for the Games.
While the city is home to the Olympic pool and the Olympic trials, the pool is a major draw for swimmers.
Memphis is hosting two swimming events in the pool on Aug. 23 and Aug. 26.
The city’s city council, which oversees the Olympic program, has been working to make sure the pool stays open.
The pool is not the only event on the schedule, though.
Memphians can learn to swim in the Olympic Village at the Olympic Pool, the site of the 2016 Summer Olympics.
The venue is also open to the public.
But the pool’s open to those with a swimming permit.
