Posted October 20, 2018 07:01:36NC State’s swimming lessons YouTube Channel has returned to its usual programming format.
The channel, which began life on February 24, 2018, was previously called “swim Lessons YouTube”.
However, it was taken offline on October 20th due to copyright violations.
It will be up to the NCAA to decide if it is reinstated.
This isn’t the first time the NC State Swim Lessons YouTube channel has been shut down due to copyrighted material.
In February, the channel was shut down for five days due to a copyrighted video.
On February 16, 2018 a copyright infringement claim was filed against NC State by a YouTube user.
That user claimed that the video, which featured a NC State University swimming instructor, was not fair use because it was “unfairly and unlawfully distributed” and that the material was “likely to cause annoyance or distress.”NC State University officials did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
The NC State Sports Media Center declined to comment on the legal issue.
